SOUTH EAST LOUISIANA
CAN'T AFFORD RENT OR UTILITIES THIS MONTH?
Catholic Charities realizes families who are normally self-sufficient and able to pay their monthly expenses can have
problems paying for basic monthly bills when things happen that are beyond their control and
temporarily sets them back. In times like this, we are happy to help the family get back
on track by assisting with a portion of the payment of the monthly rent and/or
utility bills if any of the following circumstances are true:
The number of hours worked have gone down due to company downsizing
(must have a letter from employer stating the date the loss of hours occurred);
There is a loss of employment:
(must have job separation paper and proof of unemployment which would indicate eligibility for unemployment)
Sickness kept the individual from working for a few days or a few weeks
(must have a letter from employer stating the dates missed from work or proof of Workman's Comp)
Repairs of any kind had to be paid and took up the money that was to be used for the rent;
(must have proof of bill payment for the electrician, plumber, car repair, appliance, etc.)
Medical bills or excessive medication costs took up the money that would have been used for rent.
(must have proof of medical bill/prescription payments)
All applications must be sent online by clicking on the box below or
by going to the nearest Catholic Church to fill out a paper application.
